Sgt. Jeremy C. Sherman, 23, of Watseka passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 in Egypt. He was born on January 6, 1997 in Covington, TN.

He is survived by his Wife, Kathleen Sherman of Dickson, TN, mother and father, Gwendolyn and Scott Childress of Watseka; his brother, Nathan Childress of Watseka; his sister, Shea Childress of Watseka.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carol Sherman.

Jeremy was a 2015 graduate of Watseka Community High School. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed summers at Yogi Bear Camp Grounds, and had a love for dogs, especially Chewy, his pet Chihuahua. Jeremey loved the Chicago Bears and ice cream. He was a loyal friend and cherished his family.

Jeremy joined the United States Army in 2015. His decorations included the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.

Jeremy served in South Korea, Afghanistan, and a short time in Egypt. He was a Black Hawk Crew Chief but was going to college for Aeronautics in hopes of one day becoming a Black Hawk Pilot.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Trinity Church in Watseka.
